Algerian referee Mehdi Abid Charef was removed from the list of match officials selected by FIFA for the Club World Cup, according to Ennahar, quoting sources close to the Algerian FA (FAF).

The latter allegedly received correspondence from FIFA confirming the sanction against Abid Charef.
