What we will be examining in the next few posts is based on communications which provide “Trends in the Movements”, as per the title given to the Jpeg attachment.
This document gives voice to another concept based on the word al-Isnad. Within Ahadith literature there are two primary criteria: Isnd (pl. Isnad) which is chain (of narrators) and matn (or text).
Essentially, this document is written with a Ahadith formulation. The reason for this is obvious. The Qur’an cannot be decoupled from Ahadith, or the words, sayings, actions and at times, inaction, of Prophet Muhammad. T
he Qur’an and Sunnah are inseparable when it comes to Fiqh, or Islamic jurisprudence. Both exist in co-existence.
By collapsing this communique into the Ahadith Science model, the author is making a reach for credibility and legitimacy.
Al Qaeda chain of command speak and write their way into the hearts of men by using signals which are familiar to the observant Muslim. Who can deny the seductive power of the signals?
And due to this fact, Londoners will face future attacks.
Al-Isnad presents a synopsis of the words of the primary, recognizable public faces of al-Qaeda. Not only are the thoughts of Sheikh Osama bin Laden placed on the page. The thoughts and battle space theory of Sheikh Abu Yahya al-Libi, Abu Musab al-Zakari, Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, and others, also join the cast of characters on this virtual political halodeck.
The Islamic gestalt does function on a halodeck. In Islam, the time-line is fluid and reversible. The actors on the stage may imagine themselves back in the seventh century as they carry out their inhumane terror atrocities. They are the nouveau-Sahabah, or Companions of the Prophet.
And when men on London Bridge declare they are slicing up the folks in the name of Allah – they believe it.
It is not about prior (but maybe current?) mental illness. It is not about a drug history or a disadvantaged background.
It absolutely is about Islam: a political construct fashioned for conflict. The next post will make an appearance tomorrow evening or Tuesday.
